In August 2016 BHP, BHP set up a temporary power station at its Yandi mine site to provide power during a scheduled outage. Power Engineering Services engaged Aptus Power to test all feeder protection relays in six substations to one central switchroom. The protection relay models tested include, ABB REF 610, ABB REF 615, ABB REJ 603 and Schneider Sepam 10.

Through secondary injection, Aptus Power carefully verified that all the enabled protection functions in all protection relays are functioning appropriately. The verified protection functions include Low Set Overcurrent, High Set Overcurrent, Low Set Earth Fault and High Set Earth Fault.
